Roulette is one of the most popular casino games, and gamblers from around the world enjoy the thrill of the spinning wheel. While it is well known that no strategy can take down the house edge at roulette, many people tried to come up with special betting strategies ad patterns in order to maximize their chances of achieving the desired results.
It should be understood from the beginning that no betting system can increase your chances of winning on the long run. However, the way you bet can greatly increase the chances of winning in a certain session, or the chances to win big.

One of the most common betting systems is the Martingale System, played by many gamblers in all online casinos. According to this scheme, you start with a bet on red/black or odd/even. If you win the bet, you stop. If you lose, you double the size of your initial bet and continue on the same type of bet. Winning this second bet will make up for the initial loss and also ensure a winning equal with the size of the first bet. If losing the second bet, you double the stake again, and continue. The advantage of this system is that theoretically it cannot fail. After a certain amount of spins you will hit a winning bet, and win your initial bet size.

The big disadvantage of the Martingale System is that you can hit the table limits or end up without any chips to continue doubling the bet. If this happens, you will end up losing a high stack of chips with the target of winning a small bet.
Martingale System should be played only a certain amount of spins, to ensure that you don’t risk to get broke. You will win most of the times, but when you will lose it will be a higher amount. This system is ideal for those who want to emerge as winner most of the time, and they don’t care that their win is small.

There is also a reverse martingale system that tells you to double the bet in case you win, and do it three times in a row. You risk only a small bet for the chance to win eight times its value. This is recommended for those who want to turn a small stack into a very large one, even though they know that they will most likely lose it.
